Ronan is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. He previously was a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for 16 years where he ran the TB and NTM service. He obtained a DM looking at Paradoxical Reactions in TB patients with and without HIV co-infection, which included the development of lung-based immunological testing for mycobacterial diagnosis using BAL and induced sputum. As an NHS Consultant he has been an active collaborator in research studies in TB, NTM and the use of endobronchial ultrasound.
